Errors Downloading Visuals

Hi Everyone,

Sometimes I get emails saying there is a problem downloading or opening the files from the website. The most common reason for this is the person's computer may not have the software needed to open the files. All the visuals are in a format called "PDF" and need a software program called Adobe Reader to open them. Adobe Reader is usually pre-loaded on both Apple and Windows computers but sometimes it may not be.
If you don't have it installed you can download and install Adobe Reader for free from the Adobe Website here.
If you know your computer does have Adobe Reader installed you also need to make sure it is version 6.0 or higher.
If you still have a problem then please by all means email me with the type of error you are getting and I'll try and find a solution (even if I have to print the visuals myself and post them to you).

Instruction Booklet

Hi Everyone,

I sometimes get emails asking how and where to download the instruction booklet that is referred to on the cover page of each set of visuals. The booklet has been redesigned to be in a format similar to the "help" feature used by most software programs so it is no longer in a booklet format. I'll reword all future cover pages to reflect this.

To access the "booklet" (or online help) I have included a link on each download page with the image shown below:

When you click the image it will open a new screen with the instructions. To navigate around the instructions, use the menu system in the frame on the left of your screen.

You can also click the Help link in the menu of the website.

Finally some changes to the website

Hi Everyone,
After a long break from creating visuals for the website (visualaidsforlearning.com) our son Tom has started kindergarten and I have finally found time to start creating more visuals. I have also started this blog and the website has an email notification service that tells you when new visuals become available.

A short piece of history...
Up until April 2008 we printed and laminated the visual aid packs and sold them in boxed kits but found it quite a time consuming process and with all the printers, cutters and laminating machines our house was quickly turning into a factory. The cost to make each pack was also more than expected. As a result we decided to close down the "factory" and put all the visuals on our website as free downloads so more people would have access to them. This allowed us to concentrate on the needs of our son Tom (who we created the visuals for in the first place).

Thanks to everyone who visited the website and stay tuned as I will be adding new visuals over the coming months. Some of the sequences I plan to create include: getting your hair cut, catching trains and buses, visiting the doctor/dentist, going to the hospital and going to the movies.
